It is with great pride and joy that we announce the official launch of the Cheryl A. Hickmon Special Scholarship in honor of our beloved 27th National President. Soror Hickmon was an avid researcher and took pride in being a reproductive endocrinologist. In her memory, we are adding a new special scholarship in the area of Medicine and other Health Related Disciplines. To be eligible, applicants must be matriculated in or about to enter a medically related field such as Medical or Dental School, or graduate studies in the following disciplines:
- Reproductive Endocrinology
- Nursing
- Physicians Assistant
- Public Health
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Speech Pathology
- Audiology
- Psychology
- Psychiatry
- Radiology Technician
- Ophthalmology
- Podiatry
- Sports Medicine
- Chiropractic
- Nutritionist
- Dietician
- Other health/medically-related field
The application deadline for this special scholarship will be on February 17, 2025.

Navigating the Application

Required Materials
Complete the online application .
One letter of recommendation.
If you are currently matriculating at an institution, the letter must be written by a professor.
If you are currently not matriculating at an institution, the letter must be written by either your supervisor, colleague, Soror/Member, spiritual leader, or civic leader/community activist.
The letter must include knowledge of the applicant, personal attributes and commitment to their academic goals.
Current copy of an official academic transcript . The transcript must be the most recent and issued within 90 days of the application submission date.
Selection Process
Recipients are chosen based on:
Academic achievement and potential
Demonstrated financial need
Quality and completeness of application
Strength of recommendation letter
If selected, scholarship funds will be awarded for the Fall 2025 semester
